The borough of Mohnton, PA, is located in southern Berks County, about six miles southwest of Reading. It covers a small land area of less than one square mile, with Wyomissing Creek flowing through town. Just over 3,000 people today live in Mohnton.
The first post office to serve the area was called Mohn’s Store, established in 1857. From there the community became known as Mohnsville. The post office was renamed Mohnton in 1906, followed by the borough’s official incorporation a year later, and the office remains in operation to this day. Berks County Park is located on Mohnton’s east end, offering residents plenty of outdoor recreation space. Unique Technologies and De Met’s Candy Company are two of several businesses in Mohnton.
